James Bagian, MD, PE, will provide the keynote address.    Dr. Bagian is the founding Director of the Center for  Healthcare Engineering and Patient Safety at the University of Michigan. Previously he served as the first and founding director of the Veterans Administration’s National Center for Patient Safety as well as the founding co-chair of the ACGME Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER).   A NASA astronaut for over 15 years, he is a veteran of two Space Shuttle missions.  His powerful keynote will be complemented by highly informative and engaging plenary sessions and small breakouts led by AIAMC members where practical tips and tools will be shared.
