Designated Institutional Official (DIO), Orange Regional Medical Center

WittKieffer is proud to announce that it is partnering with Orange Regional Medical Center (ORMC) to assist in the recruitment of their next Designated Institutional Official (DIO).  ORMC seeks a distinguished and dynamic medical education leader with a passion for education to assume the role of DIO, which carries the principal responsibility for all graduate medical education (GME) programs at ORMC.

Located in Middletown, New York, ORMC is part of the Greater Hudson Valley Health System (GHVHS), a New York State, not-for-profit health system.  The hospital sits on 61 acres and boasts seven floors of innovative technology and provides 383 beds, employs over 2,400 healthcare professionals, provides privileges to more than 600 physicians and accounts for roughly $442 million in annual revenues. Dedicated to the principals of Osteopathic medicine, ORMC's partnership with Touro Medical College also provides additional opportunities to offer dynamic educational experiences to medical students and residents. 

Reporting into the Executive Director of the Greater Hudson Valley Health System Medial Group, the DIO will have general oversight and executive managerial responsibility for ORMC's six ACGME and AOA accredited graduate medical education residency programs, including programs in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry and Transitional Year Internship.  The DIO will develop a strategic approach to GME and advocate for the academic programs within and outside of ORMC.

The DIO will work to improve and develop clinical rotations within ORMC and will collaborate with administration to collate and evaluate all annual program evaluations for each program to produce an Annual Institutional Report (AIR).  The DIO will also monitor and provide oversight of faculty development within each program and will establish regularly scheduled meetings with program directors and residents to vet feedback to both the Graduate Medical Education Committee and to individual program/department subcommittees.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned and savvy physician leader and educator, who is a self-starter and has demonstrated an ability to advance educational initiatives involving ACGME and AOA policies and procedures for accreditation and reaccreditation of residency and fellowship programs. Candidates will have a medical degree from an accredited institution and board certification in an approved specialty.  Additionally, sitting DIO candidates with no medical degree will also be considered.
