Job Description / Duties
The St. Clair Health System, Department of Internal Medicine, in conjunction with the Department of Graduate Medical Education, is seeking a full-time board-certified physician as a Clinic Preceptor in the Internal Medicine Graduate Medical Education (GME) Continuity of Care Clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of internal medicine physicians in an outpatient academic setting.
This position includes providing patient care, teaching, and mentoring medical students and residents. Leadership responsibilities will include supporting curriculum development, accreditation processes, and resident evaluations. Applicants must be board-certified in Internal Medicine, hold a Pennsylvania State Medical License, and demonstrate strong clinical and teaching skills. This faculty member will also round in the hospital setting one week each month to serve community patients who may also require a hospital stay. Qualifications / Required Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
• Board Certification in Internal Medicine
• Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license in good standing
• Previous experience teaching residents and/or medical students in a clinical setting
• Strong clinical, communication, and teaching abilities
• Commitment to academic excellence and fostering medical education

Essential Functions

2. Supervise and mentor internal medicine residents in a continuity of care outpatient clinic along with other preceptors
3. Work with resident physicians as well as see their own panel of patients on select days
4. Support residents’ academic and clinical growth through effective teaching and mentorship
5. Attend on the inpatient internal medicine teaching service, providing direct supervision and education to resident physicians and medical students
