Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency Program

TriHealth in planning to expand GME by apply for accreditation for a second Internal Medicine Residency Program.  The Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program is responsible for the leadership, organization, operation, and general administration of the Internal Medicine Residency Program sponsored by TriHealth. The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of the program. The Program Director is expected to integrate the Internal Medicine Residency Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality and promotes an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education. 

The program director must: 

• Possess the required specialty expertise, as well as documented educational and administrative abilities, to carry out the responsibilities of the role and to achieve the goals and objectives of the program.       
• Be certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine or hold credentials deemed equivalent to Certification by the ACGME’s Internal Medicine Residency Review Committee. 
• Demonstrate clinical competence as a practicing physician.     
• Have minimum of five years’ experience as teaching faculty in an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. 
• At least three years of administrative experience in Graduate Medical Education. 
• Must be appointed in good standing to the Bethesda North and/or Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Staff. 
• Have unrestricted credentials within the Department of Internal Medicine of TriHealth and be licensed to practice medicine by the State of Ohio. 
• Qualifications of the program director: 
  • Must include specialty expertise and at least three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience, or qualifications acceptable to the Review Committee.
