Job Description / Duties

The Department of Pediatrics at Jersey Shore University Medical Center/K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital is seeking a qualified candidate for a PL-4 Chief Resident position for the academic year of July 2019 - June 2020. This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our dynamic pediatric training program, now part of the new Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University. K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital serves a patient population of diverse ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds and includes a 45-bed inpatient unit, 10-bed PICU, 35-bed Level III NICU, 12-bed Pediatric ED and the region’s only trauma center. There are 9 residents per year in our program.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Candidates should have a strong academic record, exceptional interpersonal skills and a sincere desire to work with children. The position offers opportunities to develop leadership, teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative skills with additional opportunities tailored to the candidate’s interests. All candidates must have completed a three year residency in Pediatrics and have a strong commitment to teaching, as well as excellent leadership qualities.
