Division Vice President, Graduate Medical Education

Job Description / Duties

HCA Healthcare seeks dynamic and accomplished executives for three Divisions within Graduate Medical Education (GME), to serve as the next Division Vice President (DVP): the North Texas Division based in Dallas, Texas, the North Florida Division based in Tallahassee, Florida, and the Gulf Coast Division based in Houston, Texas.

The DVP, GME for the North Texas Division will oversee 13 GME programs; 10 residency programs and 3 fellowship programs with 220+ residents and fellows within 8 teaching hospitals:  

 

  • HCA Medical City Healthcare Arlington – Arlington, Texas
  • HCA Medical City Healthcare Fort Worth – Fort Worth, Texas
  • HCA Medical City Healthcare Denton – Denton, Texas
  • HCA Medical City Healthcare North Texas – Richland North Hills, Texas
  • HCA Medical City Healthcare Plano – Plano, Texas
  • HCA Medical City Healthcare Dallas – Dallas, Texas
  • HCA Medical City Healthcare Children's – Dallas, Texas
  • HCA Medical City Healthcare Weatherford – Weatherford, Texas

 

The DVP, GME for the North Florida Division will oversee 36 GME programs with 547 residents and fellows within 7 teaching hospitals:

·       HCA Florida Capital Hospital – Tallahassee

·       HCA North Florida Hospital – Gainesville

·       HCA Osceola Hospital – Greater Orlando

·       HCA Ocala Hospital – Ocala

·       HCA West Hospital – Pensacola

·       HCA Fort Walton-Destin Hospital – Tallahassee

·       HCA Lake Monroe Hospital – Sanford

 

The DVP, GME for the Gulf Coast Division will oversee 11 GME programs; 9 residency programs and 2 fellowship programs with 223+ residents and fellows within 5 teaching hospitals:

  • HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood - Houston, TX
  • HCA Houston Healthcare West - Houston, TX
  • HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress - Cypress, TX
  • HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe - Conroe, TX
  • HCA Healthcare Corpus Christi Medical Center - Corpus Christi, TX

 

The DVPs will be recognized as the internal and external champions for the GME mission for HCA and will promote HCA GME in stature and performance. They will provide the leadership for bringing infrastructure and systems together that provide education excellence and outstanding culture for GME, which positively influences HCA quality, best practices and physician integration.

Reporting into the Corporate Vice President of Graduate Medical Education, the DVPs will be strategic but also have the technical knowledge involved in optimizing GME operations in collaboration with GME leadership, program directors, hospital leaders and executives whose focus is on clinical program excellence. The successful candidates will have either a graduate degree in business administration, healthcare administration, management or related field and/or a medical degree from an accredited institution and board certification in an appropriate specialty.
