Regional Vice President, Graduate Medical Education

Job Description / Duties

HCA Healthcare seeks a dynamic and accomplished executive to serve as the next Regional Vice President (RVP), Graduate Medical Education (GME). The RVP, GME is a member of the enterprise-wide graduate medical education senior leadership team and will work to ensure that the divisions in its Region appropriately plan and execute on all GME development, accreditation, quality, and financial goals.

 

HCA Healthcare is the largest sponsor of graduate medical education in the nation. HCA Healthcare currently has 270+ residencies and fellowships, at 58 teaching hospitals, in 16 states with 5,000+ residents and fellows. The RVP will provide executive-level leadership and strategic direction for multiple HCA Divisions as well as related GME affiliated operations and management teams to ensure all graduate medical education goals and objectives are successfully executed. The position oversees the responsibilities of a large and complex organization that includes multiple Divisions, GME sponsoring institutions, programs, and teaching hospitals, up to 2000 residents, 1000+ faculty, and on average 100 staff members.

 

Reporting to the President, GME, the RVP will support and supervise up to five GME Division Vice Presidents and additional administrative staff titles, build trust through effective communication and collaboration and will work to develop a performance-oriented culture based on mutual respect and accountability. In addition, the RVP will provide leadership and strategic direction to assigned divisions to ensure GME operational and business plans closely align with HCA GME goals and objectives. The successful candidate will have either a graduate degree in business administration, healthcare administration, management, or related field and/or a medical degree from an accredited institution and board certification in an appropriate specialty. The successful candidate will also have at least seven years of experience in senior healthcare management along with seven years in graduate medical education.
