WellSpan York Hospital’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program is seeking a Program Director. Responsible for all areas of program management and successful ongoing accreditation status with the ACGME, Reports to VP of Women and Children’s Services, Chairman OB/GYN and VP of Medical Affairs, Work closely with the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and Director of Medical Education, Participate on the GMEC, Successful candidate will work closely with the Program Coordinator, At least 8 hours protected time per week to be dedicated to administrative and educational activities of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine education program. This dedicated time will be fully supported by the institution, An additional 32 hours per week will be spent providing clinical care in the office or hospital setting, Expertise in key areas of faculty responsibility/scholarly activity, formative evaluation, duty hours in the learning and working environment and institutional support will be vital to success, Lead on fellow recruitment efforts, fellow evaluation and promotion/Milestone processes, Guide curriculum planning and implementation, Monitor fellow and faculty performance and manage fellow performance issues, Coordinate faculty teaching efforts, Facilitate faculty development efforts, Participation in committees and initiatives relevant to GME, QI and patient care, Expectation of Program Director completing scholarly activities, including ongoing involvement in regional/national MFM educational organizations.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The ideal candidate will be board certified in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, have five or more years of clinical experience, as well as substantial academic, leadership and research background. Diplomates of the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology (ABOG) or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology (AOBOG) will be considered. In addition, the ideal candidate will have published original research in peer-reviewed journals within the past three years, in accordance with ACGME requirements. Extramural peer-reviewed funding, presentation at regional or national scientific or faculty development meetings and/or participation in national committees or educational organizations is preferred.

WellSpan York Hospital’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship Program is seeking a Program Director. Our fellowship is fully accredited by the American Osteopathic Association. We are transitioning to Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accreditation and have recently entered Pre-Accreditation status. Initial accreditation status is expected soon. The community, academic and referral hospital-based program was established in 2013. It is a 3-year program approved for three fellows. York Hospital (YH) is a referral center for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and features a Level III NICU. The fellowship program is part of a dynamic group of GME training programs. YH is a Regional Medical Campus of Drexel University College of Medicine and has medical school affiliations with Penn State-Hershey, Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). In addition to the Associate Program Director/Curriculum Coordinator, the faculty includes a dedicated research physician and six MFM physicians. Sixteen certified Perinatal Sonographers, four Genetic Counselors, two Perinatal CRNPs, four Perinatal Diabetes educators and three antenatal testing personnel round out the fellowship faculty.
